Elementary

Concordia Christian Academy offers Kindergarten through 6th grade. Our classrooms are multi-age classrooms that build upon the strengths and work to improve weaknesses of each student. Class size is limited to fifteen students. This allows our teachers and staff to devote a large amount of time to every student's needs.

The curriculum at Concordia Christian Academy is based on the "Integrating the Faith Curriculum" and the Arkansas State Benchmarks. It has been carefully planned and is continually updated so that it exceeds the curriculum suggested by the Arkansas Department of Education. A variety of resources are used to teach the curriculum. Among these are texts from Houghton Mifflin, Silver Burdett Ginn, ABeka, McGraw Hill, and Concordia. Teachers are also encouraged to use a variety of trade books, the Internet, teacher books, and in-service trainings to support the curriculum and the needs of each individual student.

The curriculum also includes music, physical education, art, and computer instruction.

The Iowa Test of Basic Skills is administered annually to students in grades 1-6. This test is used to assist in assessing our curriculum, teachers, and students. Other forms of student assessment include teacher observation, unit testing, and performance based assessments.

Parents are kept closely informed and involved in their child's progress by mid-term progress reports, quarterly report cards, fall and spring parent/teacher conferences, and informal communication with the teacher. Weekly classroom newsletters and quarterly school newsletters are also utilized to keep parents involved and informed about school events.
